Let’s talk about my current projects, or ‘WIP.’ First of all, I had to look up what ‘WIP’ means because I’ve never been skilled with colloquial language or jargon. It’s been at least a decade since I’ve been in the writing community itself, and I’ve only begun dipping my toes into the social media waters. Fun weekly tangent aside, I have many creative projects piled up in various stages of development. I’ll outline them here for myself and whoever is curious.
Poetry
I have a collection of about 40-50 poems and songs that I’ll be revising weekly to release as a set of 3 until I have enough of them to self-publish a poetry book with various themes. These themes range from death and loss to love and hope; their styles vary widely. As a poet, I typically try to capture emotions, moments, or both together. I ponder humanity itself. Each poem (except Backward for thematic reasons) will be fashioned into a graphic featuring my nature photography and logo.
I published Life Direction: First Poem Set this past week on Patreon, but anyone can purchase it for $3 without joining my community. Love and Light: First Poem Set will be coming out next week, with excerpts on Patreon from two poems of the set. The highest tier on my Patreon, the Gemini Torch ($5/month), receives early and open access to all of my poetry, meaning they don’t have to buy the Poem Sets themselves unless it’s additional support for my mission, or a gift for someone.
When I’m able to expand, I’m planning on creating merchandise with my poetry and logo. Starting in July, I will record my readings of my poetry for both Healing Muses ($3/month) and Gemini Torches ($5/month). I have about 20 years of poetry stacked up, which is why I’m focusing on releasing it first.
Short Stories: The Belonging of Depression has a first draft complete with a revision necessary before I start submitting it to some competitions. I posted an excerpt on Patreon for Healing Muses and Gemini Torches, but I won’t be posting the full short story until after the competitions. This is the only short story I plan on working on this quarter.
Healing Hearth.
This 45-minute short film’s release may be pushed back to July due to some scheduling conflicts, but the major obstacle of my phone storage being full has finally been alleviated. It took me a couple of days to transfer 20 GB of videos off of my phone (only back to the beginning of April) so I could start recording audio and video for the business, but now I can produce way more content, including the voice-over narration needed for this Reiki-Infused Performance Treatment.
The Fated Magi
This series is my life’s work. I plan to write in its world until I die. The epic fantasy novel series itself is planned to be 9 volumes, 3 trilogies. I plan to start the first draft of the first book in November for NaNoWriMo. Its world-building and short stories will be shared with Gemini Torches exclusively since it is the work-in-progress that is in the earliest stage of development. I haven’t decided between self-publishing or traditional publishing for this.
Children’s Books
I have about a dozen outlined with 4 on first drafts. I haven’t decided whether I want to do the illustrations for them yet, or not. These are the only ones that I will be sending queries for this quarter since I would really love to have them put in libraries. I’ll be posting more about them soon.
Precious Souls
This Young Adult Fantasy Adventure was self-published back in 2012, and I recently canceled my contract to revise and republish it. It needs a major red pen with a manuscript over 200,000 words. I’ll be changing the narration from 3rd-person past-tense to 1st-person present-tense, the latter being the preferred style that I discovered after its publication. If you haven’t read about this novel in another post, I wrote it between the ages of 14 and 17. Anyone who owns a copy (which you can still order an off-the-market brand new copy from me, signed or unsigned) will get the second version for free.
Thanks for reading about the creative projects on my burners! I wish everyone love and light.
